blog: http://barbieedoll.pixnet.net/blog/post/28613900 大笨鐘The Big Ben 絕對是倫敦指標性的 landmark，在英國，跨年的時候是伴隨著鐘聲 展開新的一年，紀念戰死的將士也是在鐘聲敲響後開始默哀，可見大笨鐘對英國文化、生 活的重要性。 至於為什麼會被稱為"Big Ben"?! 說法眾說紛紜，最常見的是以 Benjamin Hall 爵士 起名，另一種則是與重量級拳擊冠軍選手Benjamin Caunt相關，自此"Big Ben"就會在日 常中形容"很有份量"的事物了；那說到笨，我想是中譯英的關係，所以也沒什麼所謂笨不 笨的，有些翻譯叫大本鐘、大鵬鐘，這之中我最喜歡的還是大笨鐘，聽起來頗呆的，很可 愛，也很容易讓人對它擬人化，認為他就真的好像笨笨重重呆呆麻麻木木的這樣。 大笨鐘與整修中的國會大廈Houses of Parliament 在歐洲，也許是建築的年份久遠，幾乎看不到完全沒在整修的建築，遇到好多教堂、行政 機構都是這樣，所以也見怪不怪 大笨鐘和國會大廈、西敏寺相接，某天搭著公車亂晃，先經過了衛兵博物館，然後來到了 大笨鐘跟西敏寺 大笨鐘的後方有一塊草皮，可以從比較不同的角度來欣賞它，閒來無事就躺在這邊賞鐘 曬太陽，在英國的我們每天都受寒受凍，實在太需要太陽的溫暖，不過這裡的太陽似乎沒 什麼作用，風也挺大的，越曬越冷>※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.24.23.120
