台中市長達8年的足球基層紮根，昨終於開花結果，平均年齡僅19歲的男足隊，全運金牌戰遭遇平均年齡超過30歲的地主台北市隊，兩隊鏖戰正規加延長賽共120分鐘仍無法分出勝負，台中市靠守門員邱育宏在PK戰撲出關鍵2球，最終以4比3奪勝，也拿下隊史第一面男足金牌。

以惠文高中畢業生為主體的台中市隊，雖然首戰不敵台南市隊，但全隊展現向心力，一路過關斬將，接連擊敗宜蘭縣、新北市、高雄市與台中市，最終登上男足王座，頂著一頭大捲髮的教練葉獻中賽後流下男兒淚，感性的說：「選手肯為教練拚到最後，真的很感動，我們團結在一起的心，才能創造奇蹟。」
