MLB／Nova完投完封勝　洋基外卡落後3場

Ivan Nova完投9局0失分，加上Eduardo Nunez的2分砲，以及Alfonso Soriano擊出的陽春彈助陣，終場洋基以6比0擊敗巨人，在美聯外卡落後3場勝差。

「我們必須贏！已經沒有時間讓我用以前的方式投球。」Nova表示。

Nova上一場先發面對紅襪，只投了4局就失5分，Nova賽後和投手教練Larry Rothschild一起看比賽影帶，並針對拿手套的方式，以及曲球做了些調整。

洋基在外卡爭奪戰力爭上游，和巨人系列賽的第2戰，身負先發重任的Nova一夫當關完投9局，被敲出6支安打，1保送、7三振，沒有丟掉任何分數，投出生涯第3場完投、第2場完封。

打線方面也相當捧場，3局下先利用鈴木一朗的高飛犧牲打，攻下第1分，Alex Rodriguez的推進以及Robinson Cano的安打，幫助洋基3局打完來到3比0。

4局上，Nunez擊出2分砲，本季第2發紅不讓，洋基領先來到5比0，Soriano第7局追加一發陽春全壘打，Soriano說：「如果我們打得像昨天與今天這樣，我們就能贏得每場比賽。」

至於，巨人先發投手Ryan Vogelsong主投5局被敲5安，1保送、1三振，失5分都是自責分，吞下本季第6敗。

儘管洋基拿下2連勝，但在美聯外卡情勢仍舊危及，洋基落後領先的光芒、印地安人3場勝差，接下來與光芒的系列賽最為關鍵。
