黃小柔患「恐懼症」，見魚就頭皮發麻、汗毛直豎，甚至曾奪門而出，或撞牆休克。演藝圈類似藝人不少，怕的都是最平常可見的食物，如張本渝怕草莓、顏嘉樂怕豆芽菜，簡沛恩所有水果類都怕，催眠師楊博政博士說：「這可能是前世記憶，或是兒時創傷所造成。」

黃小柔怕魚的程度令人匪夷所思，「康熙來了」為克服她的障礙，找來催眠師試圖攻破她的心防，結果楊博政從化妝室開始就一步步說服她，「想像你最愛的寵物，正在吃魚」、「想像身邊有防護罩，而魚沒那麼可怕」，但再怎麼努力，一盤美味的魚，端靠近她兩公尺，她就嚇到變臉，汗毛全站起，雞皮疙瘩反應是自律神經，無法控制，表示她真的很怕。
