研究：10年來外國移民多給英國400億美元

倫敦大學學院(University College London)4日出版的研究報告指出，過去10年來，移民對英國國庫的貢獻，比他們所領取的福利金，還要多出250億英鎊(大約400億美元)。

報告指出，從2001年到2011年，外國人、尤其是這10年內來到英國的歐洲人，對英國國庫做出了持續正面且相當強勁的貢獻。

報告指出，在同一時期，土生土長的英國人從國庫領取的錢，比他們的貢獻多出了6,240億英鎊。而最近移入英國的移民，越來越不可能領取救濟金，或是住進社會住宅。

報告撰寫者之一的達斯特曼(Christian Dustmann)表示，這項數字顯示，歐洲移民到英國領取所謂「福利旅遊(benefit tourism)」的說法不攻自破。這是英國右傾報紙喜歡報導的新聞話題之一。

達斯特曼說，相對於其他大多數歐洲國家，英國吸引了受過高等教育和擁有高等技術的移民，不論他們是來自歐洲經濟區(EEA)或是之外的地方。

歐洲經濟區是指歐盟加上挪威、冰島以及列支敦斯登。
