英文 assume 和 pretend 有什麼差別??

assume 和 pretend 這兩個解釋相同... 但是要怎們分辨什麼時候該用哪些字呢?

另外還有
even thought, thought, althought, even if
這幾個也是差不多意思的東西 但是卻不知道該如何分辨什麼時候該用在哪裡

可以給我詳細的解釋嗎??
