陳意涵接受雜誌專訪，自稱出道前就「很愛演」，「比方跟男朋友每天找架吵，騎摩托車騎到一半就下車丟安全帽往回走，或者在大雨裡狂奔。」她說：「我高中時的男朋友吸菸，我每天到學校就抓他的手來聞，去男廁所大叫誰誰誰出來，畢業時卻跟他說，我覺得男生吸菸很帥。他說那妳為什麼要管我３年，我說電視劇都這樣演啊，如果不這樣，好像就不是一個稱職的女朋友。」
