英學者：鄭和最早發現美洲

【施旖婕╱綜合外電報導】英國業餘歷史學家孟席斯(Gavin Menzies)近日推出新書，指發現明朝航海地圖的複製本，上面繪有美洲，因此推論明朝太監鄭和可能比哥倫布早70年發現美洲。

孟席斯相信，鄭和在1418年左右，就隨船行駛到北美洲和南美洲，要比哥倫布早了約70年。而地圖上寫著「北亞墨利加」與「南亞墨利加」，甚至稱北美東岸為「食人國」，並記載到當時印地安人的特徵和生活情形。
