褐根病蔓延梅嶺 百年老梅遭殃

褐根病威脅梅嶺老樹生態，梅農陳居峰多棵百年老梅樹枯死外，最近又發現仙桃、樹葡萄也陸續染病，陳居峰說，曾有廠商實驗「以菌吃菌」方式防治，但也無效，準備將染病的樹葡萄及周圍土地清除，避免病情繼續蔓延。

楠西區梅嶺是重要梅子產區，位在大湖桶一帶的福來百年梅園，近年來發現遭褐根病侵入，日治時期栽種的百年老梅樹紛傳染病死亡，梅農陳居峰說，早年枯死10多棵，3、4年前住家屋後樹齡最久、樹幹最粗的老梅樹也枯死，請教專家才知道是褐根病。

除了老梅樹，前幾年有仙桃也染病枯死，他隔了4、5年才在附近種下樹葡萄，原本枝葉茂盛，結果纍纍，還有人出價幾萬元要購買，他捨不得割愛，日前樹葉突然全枯了，已來不及搶救，沒想到「褐根病」潛伏在土壤這麼多年，樹木還是難逃染病。

陳居峰指出，梅樹不只是農民的生計，也是梅嶺重要觀光命脈，農民無力醫治，希望相關單位能遏阻疫情擴大。
