我們去玩時是住在離鎮西堡不遠的地方

鎮西堡位在新竹縣尖石鄉，海拔高度有1720公尺，
鎮西堡巨木群位於基那吉山的南邊、馬望山的西北 方、
布奴加理山的東南方、馬洋山北方之間，海拔 高度約2000多公尺。

鎮西堡巨木群分兩區，相差約一小時步程，
第二區 巨木群發現時間較第一區晚些，接近棲蘭山林區，
目前也是遊客較多的一區。巨木分散廣闊，
胸圍10 公尺以上的巨木約有近20餘棵，6公尺以上的巨木
也有近70棵。

A區：
1.神木區登山口→2 .AB區叉路口→3.瀑布→4溪谷→→5.毒龍潭叉路口（左往A區神木群，繞行一圈約半小時；直行往毒龍潭）→6.毒龍潭叉路口（全程約需4-5個小時)
B區：
1.神木區登山口→2 .AB區叉路口→→3.溪底木橋→4往A區神木叉路口→5.營地→6.B區環行步道入口（全程約需4-5個小時)
