函數判別關係不懂題型的意思

題目：
若以x代表奇數或偶數，則變數x的值只有兩種可能，
即不是奇數就是偶數；若以y代表非0的整數，
而x與y之間的關係如下表所示，請問：
(1)x是否為y的函數？
(2)y是否為x的函數？
x
奇數
偶數
y
......ˋ一3ˋ一1ˋ1ˋ3ˋ......
......ˋ一4ˋ一2ˋ2ˋ4ˋ...... 

不懂題目的意思，不知道在問什麼？
大概初步的函數觀念了！
