玉山國家公園塔塔加遊憩區，日前有十名遊客遭獼猴攻擊，三隻獼猴隨即遭逮捕，疾病管制署昨天證實，大公猴驗出疱疹Ｂ病毒，遭咬傷的十名旅客，已領取疱疹Ｂ病毒預防藥物，且都接種狂犬病疫苗。

疱疹Ｂ病毒是中樞神經系統人畜共通傳染病，主要經由罹患猴疱疹Ｂ病毒疹的猿猴抓咬傷而感染。人若被感染，通常在三天至三周的潛伏期後，會出現急性發燒、頭痛、水泡病灶、淋巴性腦脊髓液內細胞增多等症狀。

疱疹Ｂ病毒一旦發病，死亡率非常高，未接受妥適醫療，死亡率逾七成，存活者常伴隨嚴重後遺症。
